Simple Syrup Yields Cost Savings

Fresh-Made Maple Syrup
Do you sell pancakes or waffles?

Here is a Real Easy Simple Technique that can yield tremendous savings and bring more money to your bottom line. The solution? Make your own pancake/waffle syrup and save on portion cost.

It is also a great selling point when customers know they can get your signature, in-house, fresh-made syrup instead of a store bought product.

Simple Syrup
Here is the method to make maple syrup or any other flavor.

For a single batch which yields 16 ounces or approximately 3-4 servings:

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon maple flavoring

Combine sugar and water. Boil until desired thickness. Remove from heat. Add maple flavoring. Voila!

Add more flavoring or sugar until desired taste is achieved. Experiment with other flavors, perhaps even a pureed strawberry, blackberry, or blueberry  sauce.
